M & S Sales has been representing quality manufacturers since 1959. We pride ourselves on strong continuing relationships with our principles. We currently have two people in the field working within our customer base. To better serve our market, we strive to represent stable manufacturers of quality components whose products complement one another and allow a synergistic sales/service approach by our professional staff.
We have found the majority of our business potential in the north, northwest, and west suburbs of Chicago and in the greater Milwaukee metro area. We have positioned our offices in northwest suburban Barrington to be centrally located within our territory. We are just twenty-five minutes from O'Hare and Chicago, fifty minutes from Rockford, and ninety minutes from Milwaukee and Freeport. A majority of our accounts are within two hours travel time or less.
Our office is computer equipped for marketing, sales tracking, and direct mail functions. We have fax and conference telephone capabilities at the office. Our field communications are via cellular telephones. We are E-mail accessible and have a web presence.
As a company we feel it is important to be involved with local and national professional trade groups to help enhance our overall position within our industry. Our firm has been a member of the Electronic Representatives Association since 1969 where we have been involved as chapter officers and trade show committeemen. We are active members of the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society (formerly ISHM- for hybrid microelectronics) and the Association of Old Crows (electronic warfare society). We find there is a wealth of business information that comes to our attention during our activities with these groups.
Trade shows can be strong marketing avenues and we attend or exhibit and support local, regional, and national shows such as IMAPS (hybrid), MTTS (microwave), Consumer Electronics, Design Engineering, EDS (distribution), MD&M (medical), Design & Manufacturing, Fabtech, and Sensor Expo.
Our product mix is designed to address specific markets so we can concentrate our efforts within these target areas. The basis of our business is the sale of components, materials and systems built to the specifications of original equipment manufacturers in the hybrid, microwave, military, medical, communications, frequency control, automotive, industrial and appliance markets. We work extensively with engineering at the various design, development and production support levels. Our engineering contact compliments our strong involvement with purchasing. The synergy among the lines we currently and previously represent has been helpful in introducing new products to both our current customers and new prospects. We also work with our local and regional distributors where a principal's product offering fits.
